You just can’t go to your local BMC dealer and purchase one of these babies!
This Austin Healey 100-4 LeMans head gasket dates back to the early 1970s. It was part of the factory LeMans upgrade when 1 3/4 SU carb’s were installed by the factory and later dealers. It is extremely rare, and if your considering a rebuild of your 100-4 engine this is the part for you. Over 40 years old, we purchased this gasket from Halls/Payen gaskets of England. Reference number 7H1726.
This gasket was installed on all Austin Healey 100-4 LeMans models and was offered in the LeMans conversion kit. The gasket has steel on one surface and copper on the other. The Austin Healey 100 LeMans engine used this steel/copper head gasket and it will fit all 100 models BN1 and BN2 built 1953-1956. The gasket is stamped made in England.
The part is new but there is some slight imperfections.
There is very slight damage to the left rear corner hole where the rear head stud is located and have some spots on the steel surface. This has no affect on the performance of the head gasket.
We use a copper spray when installing to help prevent the typical cylinder head seeping problem on all Austin Healey 100 models.
Please note these gaskets are no longer available and are obsolete.
