Austin Healey Champion Ignition Wire Set 6 Cyl , Complete set of suppression ignition wire with period correct Champion soft spark plug caps. Can be fitted to any Austin Healey 100-6 or 3000 model. Late model BJ8 models imported into the US after engine number 29K……… had suppression type ignition wires and the soft rubber Champion cap with the molded in Champion logo on the top and sides of the spark plug cap. Our set includes 6 correct Champion caps, screw type banded retaining clamp, suppression wire and coil lead. Original screw type distributor cap is required. The screw type cap was used on all Austin Healey 100-6, 3000 models 1957-1967 years. Push on caps are incorrect for concourse restorations. This set can be fitted to a push on cap but will require rubber cupped cap and push on connector available at additional cost. If you are installing an electronic ignition suppression ignition wire is required. This set includes the proper wire and can be used with electronic ignition and points type systems. Important Austin Healey’s never used hard plastic plug caps as used on Jaguar models. The cap supplied is correct for late BJ8 models and can also be installed on earlier 6 cylinder Healey models.
Sports and Classics not only sells parts but uses these on our own restored vehicle. Our goal is to supply an accurate part which closely replaces the original as supplied by BMC when the vehicles were built.
