Austin Healey 3000 BJ7 BJ8 Convertible Top Seal Gray OE Design. We have 5 yards of old stock woven gray with rubber seal dating back to the 1970. This seal is almost identical to the factory seal that was used on all BJ7 and BJ8 models. If you look at the old seal on your vehicle it may appear rust color.. Originally it was a gray fabric with a large rubber bulb which allowed the door window to seal up against the top. The seal we have has the correct large rubber hollow bulb. The original Healey MKIII had a woven gray fabric attached to the rubber and an internal metal grip that held the seal on to the aluminum around the top frame. The seal went around the top and also down the windshield posts. It takes a total of 5 yards to do a car.
The seal is extremely close to the original with the correct light gray fabric. The weave is not as pronounced as the original. but the color gray was correct as the top frame was painted a light gray. . Only a small quantity remaining. We are offering a 5 yard piece in this listing which is enough to do one car only.
Others offer a totally incorrect seal. Usually a fuzzy seal similar to the door seal. The seal is totally incorrect. Healey’s never used door seal on the convertible top.
Part reference RP9490/G Important we only have limited stock. To do a car you will need 3 yards for the top itsself and 1 yard for each windshield post. So if we have5 yard sections will ship. If not you will receive a three yard and 1 yard pieces to do the door posts.
