TFS3006/501 Triumph Spitfire Fuel Tank Sender. Replace old frozen Smiths gas tank sendering unit with a new made in England from the original Smiths supplier. Over the years there were slight changes to these senders and it is important to take a few minutes determining if any adjustments to the float arm are required. On some Spitfires the fuel pickup tube may hinder the movement of the float arm. We have restored several Spitfires and always remove the tanks when replacing the sender. Tanks should be cleaned and flushed. In some cases a new tank may be required. Original fuel tank senders are impossible to rebuild so a new sender is the best option. Because Triumph made several changes to the fuel tank design you will to spent a few minutes adjusting the arm or if the tank has been removed bending the pickup tube. This will eliminate extra frustration. Below we have listed the Smiths and factory part numbers which the current sender replaces. New gas tank sending unit all Spitfire models.
