Wood Rim Polished Teardrop Classic British Steering Wheel MK3

Teardrop polished alloy MK3 Style Wood Rim Steering Wheel. Popular slotted wood rim steering wheel was introduced early 1950’s and was installed on many racing sports cars and rallye during the 1950’s thru 1970’s.  Traditional offset spoke design similar to Les Leston wheel but with riveted rim and laminated marine timbers. These wheels remain popular as a beautiful upgrade accessory on many British sports cars inclusing Austin Healey Jaguar Lotus Morgan Elva Triumph and others. Offset spokes of the MK3 design allowing visibility of dash gauges. Similar wheels were introduced during this period on British Works cars and privateers who raced on European cources such as Le Mans and in the USA including Sebring, Watkins Glen Bridge Hampton and Laguna Seca 

  Steering wheel manufactures included V. W Derrington, Wallsal  Lecarra Motolita Momo Nardi and others .  V.W. Derrington wheels had 18 rivet wood rim and 9 mounting bolts. The hub design is still used today and are available from Motolita, Lecarra, Montery. We have hubs available for many British sports cars which will allow the mounting of this and similar wood rim wheels to your sports car. These will e listed on the site shortly. The MK3 teardrop  wheels supplied flat spokes 15 inch diameter. Alloy construction had highly polished offset slotted spokes. 18 rivets around  marine timber wood perimeter . These  beautiful  British wheels were originally distributed by several importers  Vilem  B Haan Inc Sports Car Accessories and MG Mitten West Coast and  Bakers World and Wilco Products East Coast. Many may remember these catologs with loads of sports car accessories for your British sports car. 

Our MK3 Teardrop  wheel will install on all 9 bolt Motolita , Lecarra,or Bluemel  9 bolt steering wheel hubs. We stock some Motolita , Lecarra and polished Bluemel style adjustable hubs for Austin Healey  MG Jaguar Triumph and other  British sports cars. Please contact us with specific hub requirements for your sports cars advising specific year. All  MK3  wheels are supplied with a top ring and screw kit.
